ROOF REPAIR & SECTION RESTORATION

Fix it once. Fix it right.

Section repair and roof restoration work for Arizona homes — focused on the kind of repair that actually solves the problem instead of postponing it.

WHY SECTION WORK

A roof repair is a structural decision,

not a patch job.

A roof repair is a structural decision,

When water shows up inside a Scottsdale home, the cause usually isn't a single broken tile or a single torn shingle. It's a section of the roof system that's failed — underlayment that's brittled, flashing that's pulled away, an entire valley that's no longer sealed. Patching the symptom doesn't fix the system.

Revel takes on the section repair and restoration work most contractors won't — full underlayment replacement, storm damage section rebuilds, partial reroofs that match the existing system. The goal is a repair that lasts the rest of the roof's expected life, not one that holds until the next monsoon.

WHAT WE DO

The repair and restoration work we
take on.

Three categories of work cover most of what we're called for. Each is full-section by design — sized to address the actual scope of the failure, not to minimize the invoice.

Tile Underlayment

Replacement

Tile Underlayment

Replacement

Full removal of existing tile, replacement of failed underlayment with a Polyglass system, and reinstallation of the original tile. The standard restoration for tile roofs reaching the end of their first underlayment cycle — typically 20 to 25 years.

Storm Damage Section

Storm Damage Section Repair

Wind, hail, or monsoon damage to a section of the roof — flashing pulled away, valleys breached, multiple courses of tile or shingle compromised. We document, coordinate with insurance where applicable, and rebuild the affected section to match the existing system.

Restoration & Partial Reroof

Restoration & Partial Reroof

A defined section of the roof — an addition, a wing, a slope that was previously repaired badly — replaced as a discrete project. Useful when the rest of the roof has good remaining life but one area needs to be brought up to standard.

01

The visible damage isn't the actual failure point.

A broken tile or torn shingle is a symptom. The underlying cause is almost always underlayment that's brittled from heat cycling, flashing that's lost its seal, or a fastener pattern that's failed. Replacing the visible piece without addressing the system underneath leaves the failure mode in place.

02

A patch creates two failure points where there was one.

Every patch introduces a new seam between old material and new. That seam becomes a stress point — different thermal expansion, different moisture behavior, different lifespan. A spot repair often fails sooner than the section around it, and takes the surrounding material with it when it goes.

03

The cost math favors section work over time.

A small patch that fails in eighteen months and damages a ceiling is more expensive than a section repair that lasts fifteen years. Premium homeowners we work with have generally already paid for the cheap version once. The second time, they want it done right.

04

Insurance often covers more than homeowners assume.

Many storm-damage section repairs are partially or fully covered under existing homeowner policies. We document the damage, photograph the conditions, and work with adjusters when applicable — so the scope of the repair is determined by the failure, not the deductible.

WHAT WE REFER OUT

Some work we send

to other contractors.

Revel is structured for full-section repair and restoration work — not for individual-piece patching. The two require different scheduling, different crews, and different quality controls. When we take on work outside our model, the customer ends up paying premium pricing for a service we're not optimized to deliver. Better for everyone if we say so up front.

Cosmetic-only repairs. If the goal is to make a roof look better for an upcoming sale rather than address structural condition, we're not the right contractor for the job.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What homeowners ask about repair work.

What homeowners ask about repair work.

How do I know if I need a full section repair or just a patch?

An on-site assessment is the only honest way to answer this. The visible damage rarely matches the actual scope of the underlying failure. We come out, walk the roof, and tell you what we see — sometimes the answer is a section repair, sometimes it's that the work isn't ours to do and we'll point you elsewhere.

Will insurance cover the repair?

For storm-related damage, often yes. Wind, hail, and monsoon damage are typically covered under standard homeowner policies. We document the conditions, photograph the affected area, and provide the scope-of-work documentation insurance carriers require. We don't represent ourselves as a public adjuster — that's a separate licensed role — but we work cooperatively with whoever is handling the claim.

How long does a tile underlayment replacement take?

For a typical Scottsdale tile roof, the full underlayment replacement runs four to seven working days depending on roof size and complexity. The original tile is removed, set aside, the failed underlayment is torn off, the new Polyglass system is installed, and the original tile is reinstalled to match the existing pattern. We schedule around weather and confirm timeline at the proposal stage.

If your roof has a section that needs work, we'll come out and tell you what we see. If it's outside what we do, we'll tell you that too — and point you to a contractor who handles it.
